Scraps of our material activities are encapsulated in terminologies that reflect a lack of contextual value. No waste is ever truly residual, but rather something that settles –linked to the Latin term sedere (to sit) – lingering somewhere, neglected, forgotten, contaminating and being contaminated. We manage this situation as though it were an externality, the price to pay for a civilisational model based on constant renewal, thus forging a fractured relationship with materiality in which we design so that enduring resources serve ephemeral functions. This pace is unsustainable and must be subjected to profound revision: after all, each material that becomes waste contains all the processes and energies that once made it useful – and in many cases, that investment can still be recouped. A potential medium-to-long-term strategy would be to create incentives that reframe each waste item as an opportunity to add value and extend its useful life, while imposing penalties for its undervaluation through downcycling processes. It reflects on the stark absence of natural stone in the Dutch landscape, probing the implications this lack has on identity, materiality, and the intricate relationship between architectural culture and nature. The project draws a parallel between Eindhoven—where I resided for a decade—and the Mediterranean coastline of my homeland, creating a dialogue between these two contexts where I feel at home. The bench, a central element of this context specific exploration, embodies my interpretation of the Pedra Seca structures, envisioned as if the Mediterranean essence were to converge with the Dutch landscape, particularly with the Designer Sectie-C area and the materiality in it. When seated upon these architectural archetypes, individuals are invited to rethink their interaction with the surrounding environment, gaining the opportunity to both construct and reconstruct their spatial experience. look at myself, when the space is my context it is also my escape. Oikos; the Fragmented home is a video projection intended to represent the duality that exists between perception and tools of representation. I see that by fragmenting we decouple meaning and relations, with creativity we fill in the blanks to develop narratives of our own. D. Bohm helps, unaware, to narrate this duality in a fictional dialogue that seeks to present the space between reality, perception and representation.” This projection follows the research done during several years on transitory spaces,&nbsp; fragmentation and political ecology. drásticamente para evitar la crisis climática del planeta. La tardía actuación para salvar un exosistema habitable lo convierte en un lugar inhóspito y despoblado, imposibilitando el mantenimiento de las infraestructuras globales básicas. Nómadas tribales comunalistas son los grupos humanos que ahora andan por algunos paisajes desérticos. Sin recursos, interactúan parcialmente con los medios remanentes y tecnologías de bajo coste energético. Lo que había sido el sueño de una tierra con un futuro más verde y justo se convierte en un paisaje desconocido y decadente. Hay quien no conoce otra cosa.&nbsp; Artefactos: Herramientas cartográficas desarrolladas en PN-M. Los tres objetos, mapean, miden y muestran escenarios desconocidos. Los dos vehículos usados para obtener información y control del territorio acompañan a nómadas expliradores. La impresora de mapas visualiza lo explorado en los asentamientos. Every little friend is a composition game out of scrap material or leftovers of the studio and the complementary pieces which can be; found objects, recycled parts or given trophies.
